373.5 hours clocked...

An update of total hours so far is 373.5 hrs = 53.35 days (based on a 7hr day)

Third count: 07.01.2013 > 31.03.2014 = 181.15 hrs

Second count: 28.05.2012 > 31.12.2012 = 98.25 hrs

Start day: 12.11.2011 > 27.05.2012 = 94 hrs

And more...

Digging around on the sill - I removed some more rusty spots.

I thinking if I can repair these areas and they looks ok - great. If it looks crap - its time for a new sill.

I intend to paint them white not black as before - it looks nicer but the surface needs to be good.

Hole lot of work...

Time to cut - either side of the turret, front flitch panel and chassis member. Using masking tape to mark the areas to be removed - using butt welds and patches.

The goal is hopefuly invisible welds from the engine bay side and others rusty areas removed and patched the maintain strength on any structural parts.

Air in the garage...

Finally won a bidding war on eBay and hopefully got myself a bargain. I've been borrowing a small compressor but wanted to get a larger belt driven with a 50-100ltr tank.

Picked up this one a weekend and have plumbed it in a couple of hoses, one a with filter/lubricator for tools and the other just air.

I needed to install a extra power point direct from the garage fuse box. All seems to work OK and its not too noisy.

A very handy addition to the garage and I may even consider trying some paint spaying!

Sills repair patches...

While waiting for the new inner to come I've made a start on some of the other areas that need repairing/patching.

The front section of sill which is behind the rear of the front wing has rusted along with a support bracket within the sill void.

I wanted to see if I could make the repair plate of one piece of metal - after making a card template and transferring it to a sheet 22 gauge I cut it out a cutting disc.

With some left over angle from the engine stand frame and a length of 50mm tubing - using the vice I bent the plate into the rough shape.

I now need make a replace bracket and somehow attach it to the remain non rusty part within the sill.
