Header tank mod update...

One of the updated on the 7 is to replace the plastic expansion bottle with a later model header tank.

I found one on ebay with all fittings for £20 delivered. I will need to change the thermostat housing and get a later spec rad - hoping I can do recon exchange but get a newer spec.

Painted and cleaned up very nice - maybe too much brass, will see what it looks like when fitted.

Replacement cover...

Finally found a replacement thermostat cover on eBay which was delivery today – £7.01 +p&p. After a quick look to make sure it matched the old one, into the cleaner and rub down with wire-wool then finished off with a coat of aluminium paint.

Engine breakdown... pt2

Next the thermostat housing, thermostat and temperature transmitter. I need to place the housing because when I was removing the radiator and hoses the expansion bottle outlet pipe was corroded and snapped off.
